TELESEMINARS

by Kathie Snow

Do you have a limited budget and/or

time and travel constraints?

Consider my new Teleseminars!

These two-hour trainings are a great solution for service providers, parent organizations, schools,

self-advocacy groups, disability organizations, churches/synagogues, college classes,

community groups, and others.

Make the most of your training time and budget with enlightening, educational, and state-of-the-art teleseminars for those in your sphere of influence!

Click here to download more information.

When thinking of dates for your teleseminars, please keep in mind my presentation/travel schedule (below), and anticipate that I'll be traveling the days before/after an event.

"You really shook my ground when you presented...

some of it was hard to hear, but you planted a seed.

I'm a changed person because of it."

Amy, mother of a 4-year-old with autism.

"Life-Changing!"

"Thought-Provoking!"

"Revolutionary!"

These are some of the words people have used to describe my presentations. (Read more comments on the Rave Reviews page.)

I have fun during my presentations—and you will, too! Personal stories, humor, questioning conventional wisdom, and new ways of thinking are all included. Topics include People First Language/New Attitudes and Perceptions, Inclusive Education, Inclusive Communities, Self-Determination and Living Real Lives, Using Natural Supports and Generic Services to Promote Community Inclusion, Systems Change for Agencies, and much, much more. I work closely with meeting planners to create high-energy, exciting, skill-building presentations that promote new, different, and positive outcomes and enable us to help create a better world for all.

I'll be presenting at the following events and, in most cases, will also provide an exhibit of bright and colorful "Disability is Natural" items that promote positive new ways of thinking about disability (visit the store to see those products). For general information about a specific event, please call or email the contact person listed below.

If you're interested in learning more about my presentations or exhibits, I'd love to hear from you! Please use the form at the bottom of this page and I'll send you information about my presentations. If I'm already scheduled to present or exhibit in your neck of the woods, it may be possible to schedule an event for your group on the day(s) immediately before or after the dates listed below, so let me know if you're interested.

You may see listings for Partners in Policymaking below. Partners is a leadership development training program for adults with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. Partners programs are operated in a majority of states across the USA, as well as in several other nations. Every year, each Partners program selects approximately 25-35 people for the intensive state-of-the-art leadership training; thus, Partners training sessions are not open to the public. I urge you to call or email the Partners contacts listed below for more information or to receive an application for the next class. Visit www.partnersinpolicymaking.com for more information. I was a graduate of the first class of Texas Partners in Policymaking in 1991. Not only did it change my life, but it also changed the course of my son's future. Partners is doing the same for thousands of graduates around the world!

Our words reflect the way we think, so let's get rid of descriptors like "handicapped, physically disabled, mentally retarded, learning disabled" and other words that focus on the condition instead of the person. People First Language promotes dignity and respect for all!
