You may not modify, publish, transmit, distribute, display, create new works from, or exploit any of the content of this site, in whole or in part, without express written permission, except as noted in the sections below. Plagiarism and/or misuse of copyrighted/trademarked materials is a violation of U.S. and International laws and could result in legal action.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not give permission for the republication or re-use of any products we sell. You may make copies of any articles to use as handouts for yourself or others, for conferences, classrooms, staff trainings, etc. You’re also welcome to Email the PDFs of any articles to others. PUBLISH A LINK
You can publish a link to this website and/or a particular article on your website, in your electronic newsletter, on a Facebook page, in a webinar or other presentation, in a listserve, within an E-newsletter, etc. (For information about republishing an entire article, not just a link, see the section on newsletters below.) You can write a short blurb and add the appropriate link back to this site. Let me know if you need the exact link information. UPLOAD THE PDF OF AN ARTICLE TO YOUR WEBSITE
You can upload the PDF version of any of the articles on this website to your website, so long as you use the PDF version as is, and make no changes to the article. You do not need to request permission for this, but I would appreciate your letting me know. Click here and thank you!

WHAT YOU CAN DO, BUT PERMISSION IS NEEDED:

REPUBLISH AN ARTICLE IN A PRINT NEWSLETTER, TRAINING MANUAL, OR OTHER PUBLICATION (see below if you also have an Electronic Newsletter):

Use the link at the end of this section to request permission to republish an article in your print (hard-copy) newsletter, training manual, or other publication. In requesting permission, you agree to use the article “as is,” making no changes whatsoever. In your request, indicate if you will use the PDF version of the article to “insert” into your newsletter, or if you’d prefer the “cut-and-paste” (word.doc) version that you can reformat to match your newsletter style. The “cut-and-paste” version also includes instructions for use that you agree to follow. Click here for the permission form for print (hard-copy) newsletters.

REPUBLISH AN ARTICLE IN (1) A PRINT PUBLICATION AND ELECTRONIC FORMAT OR
(2) ELECTRONIC ONLY, ARCHIVED ON YOUR WEBSITE AND/OR SENT VIA EMAIL
For print (hard-copy) newsletters, the same information in the section above. Read on regarding electronic publications (Email and/or archived documents on your website). If your newsletter/publication is Emailed to your subscribers: I don’t allow my articles to be republished “as a whole” within Emailed newsletters because of rampant plagiarism. (This is why in my own E-newsletters, I only include a paragraph or two of an article within an E-newsletter and on my archived newsletter page (in HTML).

To use one of my articles within an Emailed newsletter (E-Newsletter), you can:

write a short blurb about the article (or include the first few lines) and then post a link back to the article on my website or on your website (you can upload the PDF version of the article to your site, using the article “as is,” making no changes). This is the method I use in my own E-Newsletters.
attach the PDF of the article you want to use as an attachment to your E-Newsletter

If your newsletter/other publication is archived on your website (and not Emailed to your subscribers) you can include the complete article IF your publication is saved and archived on your site as a PDF with security enabled, to prevent others from swiping the contents and re-using without your authorization or mine. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to learn more about enabling security on a PDF.) WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO:

Except as noted in the sections above, we do not give permission for any articles to be published, as a whole, on other websites, blogs, newletters, etc. (Details on how articles can be used, with permission, are in the section above).

We also do not give permission for the republication or re-use of products we sell (e.g., excerpts from books or from designs/images of our posters, magnets, bookmarks, etc.) within newsletters, publications, presentations, web sites, and/or any other medium. Unauthorized use could violate United States and International copyright laws, “fair use,” and intellectual property laws, and could result in legal action.

ENABLING SECURITY ON A PDF:
The following instructions may be slightly different, depending on the version of Adobe Acrobat:
• Save the original document as a PDF.
• Click on the Lock icon (“Secure”) at the top of the document.
• Click “2-Password Encrypt;”
• A new window will open; scroll to the bottom third of that window;
• Click “Restrict editing and printing of this document,”
• Enter a password;
• For “Printing Allowed” select “High Resolution;”
• For “Changes Allowed” select “None;”
• Check the box for “Enable text access for screen reader devices;”
• Click OK, and another window will open for you to re-enter the password.
• "Save” the document so the security features will be saved.
